Tottenham legend Alan Mullery spoke to Football.London, and offered high words of praise for Lucas Moura, labelling the Brazilian’s form since joining the club as ‘outstanding’.

The 26-year-old joined Spurs form Paris Saint-Germain in January, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £25 million, and he has really impressed in north London, chalking up eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

Tottenham have made a great start to their Premier League campaign, and having someone like Lucas Moura to call upon from the bench seems to have taken Mauricio Pochettino’s side to an entirely different level over the past 12 months.

Mullery, who made 312 league appearances for Spurs, told Football.London how the Brazil international has been outstanding for the Lilywhites, highlighting his pace and toughness as two of his most impressive attributes:

“And then there’s Lucas Moura – he has been outstanding. He is so quick and he’s as tough as a lion. He’s turned out to be a very good buy.”

The former PSG ace is by no means a regular starter for Tottenham, but he will hoping to impress Poch during the hectic festive period, and in doing so, make it impossible for his manager to leave him out.

The next week will be crucial for Spurs, and their hopes of mounting a title challenge in the new year will be heavily dependant on their ability to win their next three games.

And if Lucas is on his best form, they have every chance of doing just that.
