Emerson Palmieri has taken to Twitter to engage in a Q&A session with West Ham fans, where he made a claim about Said Benrahma.

Benrahma causes Emerson problems at West Ham

Well, one supporter asked the £13m man who performs best in training at Rush Green, with the Italian opting for his Algerian teammate.

Emerson wrote: “Again a tough one as there’s so many! But I’d say Said Benrahma.”

The 27-year-old is renowned for being one of the most skilful players in the Premier League, with his ability making him one of the most entertaining footballers in England while he was on fire at Brentford.

Benrahma is yet to match the heights he hit for the Bees at the London Stadium, scoring 15 goals in 98 appearances for the Hammers so far.

In contrast, the Algeria international netted 30 goals in 94 outings for Brentford – albeit at a lower level.

Nevertheless, Benrahma now seems to have finally gained the trust of David Moyes, who admitted the winger could often “frustrate” him at times, with the £25m man’s defensive output arguably his biggest issue.

So far this season, the West Ham No.22 has scored three goals, while also providing two assists, in 17 appearances across all competitions.

West Ham yet to see best of Benrahma

In our view, there is still more to come from Benrahma at the London Stadium.

The entertaining winger’s game depends a lot on his confidence levels, and as aforesaid, it took him a while to convince Moyes that he could do the defensive side of an attacker’s job.

Benrahma is certainly making progress in east London, although we believe West Ham fans are yet to see what he’s truly capable of.

Hopefully, he can keep improving, and translate his phenomenal efforts for Brentford into his life at West Ham.
