Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the situation of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams amid interest from Chelsea.

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is on the radar at Tottenham Hotspur although a move to Chelsea looks close.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that a number of Premier League are eyeing up a move for Adams.

It’s stated that Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford are all ‘keeping tabs’ on Adams and his situation.

Tottenham could offload Pierre-Emile Højbjerg this month and may look for a natural fit as a holding midfielder.

Adams played in that role for Leeds last season and even earned comparisons to N’Golo Kante from Ian Wright.

Yves Bissouma looks likely to play in the holding role for Tottenham if Højbjerg moves on but other options aren’t great fits.

Oliver Skipp could play there if needed but Pape Matar Sarr is better off going forward so a target like Adams does make sense.

Tottenham Hotspur could miss out on Tyler Adams

The problem for Tottenham is that Adams may be heading elsewhere in London very soon.

Reports from the Daily Mail over the weekend suggested that Chelsea were ready to pay the £20million in Adams’ release clause.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay added on Monday that Adams was ‘increasingly likely’ to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are desperate for midfield additions and especially somebody who can protect Mauricio Pochettino’s back four.

Adams could be that player and American owner Todd Boehly will be very familiar with his qualities.

Tottenham may be taking a back seat on this one but they are in danger of seeing Adams move to one of their London rivals if they don’t move quickly.
