Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has told Voetbal International that he isn’t satisfied with his playing time in recent months.
Janssen, 22, hit 31 goals in 49 appearances for AZ Alkmaar last season to tempt Tottenham into signing him, with the Dutchman brought in as both cover and competition for Harry Kane.
Signing players from the Netherlands has always been a mixed bag, as for every Luis Suarez and Wilfried Bony, there are instances such as Mateja Kezman and Afonso Alves, where players have struggled to settle in England.
So far, Janssen would fit into the latter category, as he has found the net just five times in 31 appearances, with only one of those goals coming from open play – and that came in an FA Cup tie against Millwall earlier this month.
Janssen has yet to prove why Mauricio Pochettino splashed the cash to sign him, but he has kept his position in the Netherlands national team, and is in the squad to face Bulgaria on Saturday and Italy on Tuesday.
Janssen will be hoping to prove that we can do in front of goal, and ahead of those games, he has spoken to Voetbal International about his situation at White Hart Lane.

Janssen has admitted that he is ‘not satisfied’ with his playing time in recent months, but he has vowed to remain positive – especially given that star striker Kane is now out through injury.
The Dutchman added that he won’t be whining about his playing time and he’s determined to impress with Spurs despite a slow first season in North London.
“Of course I’m not satisfied with the amount of playing time in recent months,” said Janssen. “But I remain positive. Moreover, things are going very well at Tottenham Hotspur. I’m not going to walk around as the only player whining. That makes no sense,” he added.
