West Ham United should consider a move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

Manuel Pellegrini the head coach

Manuel Pellegrini undertook a massive overhaul of the West Ham squad during the summer transfer window, but there is still plenty of work to do for the Chilean at the London Stadium.

One particular area where the Hammers could do with strengthening is the central midfield department, with more physicality and aggression required.

With this in mind, Pellegrini should consider a move for Tottenham ace Victor Wanyama, with the Sun claiming that Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to sell the Kenyan in January.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £11 million, but he has fallen down the pecking order in north London, following a lengthy spell on the sidelines because of injury last term.

Wanyama still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, however, and he would be an exceptional addition to the West Ham squad.

The Kenya international is powerful, aggressive, and plays with a certain type if tenacity that the Hammers are currently bereft of in the middle of the park.

Whether Tottenham would be prepared to sell the midfielder to their London rivals is debatable, but Pellegrini should test their resolve with a January offer for his services nevertheless.
