Victor Wanyama struggled with injury last season and he will be hoping to put that behind him as Tottenham Hotspur prepare for the new Premier League campaign in August.

On his day, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama is up there as one of the best defensive-minded players in the Premier League.

Unfortunately for Wanyama, his career at Tottenham has stagnated mainly because of injury as he will be hoping to get back on track ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Despite his recent struggles, it seems as though there is still interest in the 28-year-old, who has previously made it clear that he wants to stay at the club, as quoted by ESPN.

The Daily Mirror previously reported that Fenerbache are keen on Wanyama, as Tottenham look to raise funds in order to increase their own budget.

Even though Wanyama was one of several players put up for sale by Tottenham this summer [Evening Stantard] a move to Turkey would be a serious step down for the powerhouse.

Even though he has a fight on his hands for a starting spot next season, he still on his day can nullify the threat of some of the best attacking teams in the country.

From Wanyama’s case, it is just a simple case of staying put, staying injury-free then Mauricio Pochettio wouldn’t be able to ignore his talents.

Moving to Fenerbache during the peak years of his career would be a serious mistake and one that wouldn’t see him take his game to the next level.
