Tottenham Hotspur’s main targets appear to be players not currently involved at the prestigious tournament.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Victor Wanyama, Antonio Sanabria and Vincent Janssen in the coming weeks, and if manager Mauricio Pochettino pulls that off there appears to be a clear focus to his transfer dealings.
While many of the top clubs are waiting for Euro 2016 to finish so they can sign the big names currently involved, Tottenham are acting quickly to bring in the players they feel will take them to the next level.
There is no doubt Wanyama is the right man for the job and for the fee being mooted he could prove to be an absolute bargain, while Sanabria has raw yet innate talent and Janssen proved prolific in the Netherlands last season and has continued that great form for his country with three goals in just five appearances.
Bringing in new signings quickly means Tottenham’s squad would be settled ahead of the new campaign and it could give them a head start in the race for next season’s Premier League.
Of course Tottenham are yet to complete the alleged deals, but while they may have their eyes on one or two players currently competing in the European Championships it appears their key focus is elsewhere.
Signing players who are fresh after a summer off from international duty could also work wonders when you consider the sheer number of Tottenham stars who are at Euro 2016 right now.
Harry Kane clearly needs a rest while some of Spurs’ main men could reach the latter stages of the tournament.
In Janssen, Wanyama and Sanabria Pochettino would have fresh legs but only time will tell how things play out both on and off the field.
