Tottenham Hotspur fans are calling on Toby Alderweireld to extend his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are imploring Toby Alderweireld to extend his contract in North London.
The Belgium centre-back impressed in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Leicester City, having been dropped by Mauricio Pochettino a week earlier in the defeat at Arsenal.
That snub prompted debate over whether the 29-year-old would try and leave Tottenham during the January transfer window.
Alderweireld is out of contract next summer but Spurs have the option to extend it by a year, at which point a £25 million release clause would be included.
The former Atletico Madrid and Southampton stalwart has proven his worth to the Lilywhites over the past two matches, and fans of the North London side are desperate to see him commit his future to them in the long term.
The Daily Record reported a number of weeks ago that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is keen to offload Alderweireld in January.
If Levy is pessimistic over Alderweireld staying beyond 2019 then he must draw up a list of potential replacements.
Pochettino has Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth, as well as the brilliant but injured Davinson Sanchez, but another centre-back will be needed if Alderweireld does leave because, as he proved last week at the Emirates, 20-year-old Foyth is raw and needs time to improve.
