The Tottenham Hotspur ace made his first start in two months last night.

Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last night, and responded when asked how he felt after completing 90 minutes for the first time since February 18th, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Belgian centre-back’s future with Spurs remains unclear, with the Times claiming that the north London outfit are prepared to sell him in the summer, rather than bow down to his £150k-a-week wage demands.

Davinson Sanchez’s rise to prominence this season has offered Tottenham fans a glimpse of what life could be like without Alderweireld.

There is no denying that the 29-year-old is still one of Europe’s best centre-backs, however, and regardless of Sanchez’s fine form, losing the Belgium international would be a huge blow for Spurs.

Alderweireld addressed the media last night, after making his first Premier League start since October, and responded when asked how he felt after completing the full 90 minutes, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I am happy that I could help the team, I did my best. I was happy that my body did what I wanted it to do. I am very happy with the 90 minutes that I got and it’s back to work from here.”

Next up for Spurs is their FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United on Saturday, and Alderweireld will be hoping that he did enough to convince Mauricio Pochettino that he is worthy of a starting spot against the Red Devils.
