Tottenham’s appointment of Antonio Conte last year meant the following summer window would be spent making many signings, and the Italian manager didn’t disappoint.
The north London side made six new signings in total as well as confirming the permanent transfer of Cristian Romero as well as the arrival of Destiny Udogie, who was sent out on loan to Udinese for the season.
With Tottenham sat fourth in the Premier League standings and Conte’s side through to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, it’s been a good season so far for Spurs, with many of the club’s new summer signings playing a crucial role.
With that being said, here’s how all six of Tottenham’s summer signings have managed so far this season, with Conte expected to add to his new recruitments in the upcoming January transfer window.
Ranking Tottenham’s summer signings
Yves Bissouma
Tottenham beat out stiff competition to land Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, yet despite the midfielder’s incredible reputation, things have been slow in north London for the Mali international.
The 26-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, though only seven of these caps have been starts as Bissouma has been viewed by Conte as an extra line of defence in the midfield when closing out a win.
Rating: 6/10
Fraser Forster

One of two free signings Conte made in the summer, Fraser Forster has unsurprisingly had little impact at Tottenham since being recruited to act as Hugo Lloris’ deputy on the bench, with the 34-year-old making just one appearance this season.
With Hugo Lloris performing out of his skin, there’s been little need for Conte to turn to Forster this campaign, even in Europe. Yet with the FA Cup on the horizon, the former Southampton and Celtic star is expected to gain some more minutes for Tottenham in 2023.

Clement Lenglet
Many eyebrows were raised when Tottenham signed Clement Lenglet from FC Barcelona on loan, with the defender regarded by many Blaugrana as one of the La Liga giants’ worst signings in recent memory and a player that they were happy to see leave.
Despite the early concerns, the France international has been solid for Tottenham, with the centre-back making 14 appearances in all competitions and scoring a crucial goal for Spurs in the Champions League in their 2-1 win against Olympique Marseille.

Ivan Perisic

Conte’s reputation and pull as a manager was always going to see Tottenham land some impressive signings in the summer, and Ivan Persic is arguably the crème de la crème of the crop of players the north London side managed to recruit this year.
The Croatian international has become a crucial pillar in Tottenham’s strongest starting XI, and whilst the winger is reaching the twilight of his career and has endured some injury problems, Persic’s form for Spurs this campaign has been nothing short of impressive.
Rating: 9/10
Richarlison
Richarlison was always going to be a player who would become an instant fan favourite at Tottenham, and the Brazilian attacker has managed just that since moving to north London from Everton in a £60m deal.
Two goals and three assists might not be the best of records after 15 appearances for Tottenham, but as a backup for the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, Richarlison has fit the role perfectly for Conte’s side.
Rating 7/10
Djed Spence

Djed Spence was arguably the breakout talent of the Championship last season as the defender played a massive role in Nottingham Forest winning promotion to the Premier League. Yet the right-back’s £20m move to Tottenham has been nothing short of a disaster.
Just 28 minutes played in all competitions and zero starts, Spence’s time in north London could not have gone any worse. And with the January window on the horizon, the England youth international will be hopeful of securing a move away from Tottenham.
