Tottenham Hotspur prospect Ryan Mason made as many interceptions than his fellow midfielders did combined.
Ryan Mason gatecrashed the Tottenham Hotspur first team last month with a thunderous strike against Nottingham Forest.
A substitute that night, his game-turning performance has led to head coach Mauricio Pochettino installing him as a starter ever since.
He played all 90 minutes against Pochettino’s former side, helping them to a 1-0 victory.
Mason impressed once again, showing a different side to his game, compared to the vibrant attacking efforts of his Capital One Cup cameo.
The 23-year-old as many interceptions than the rest of Tottenham’s midfield combined, illustrating his superb reading of the game.

Mason was playing alongside Capoue in a deeper role, preferred to Nabil Bentaleb, and demonstrated he can be effective in such a position.
He did not create any chances or attempt a shot at goal, but did make two tackles, while completing 82 per cent of his passes.
It was Tottenham’s first victory in the Premier League in over a month, and one which takes them above rivals Arsenal in the table.
