Tottenham Hotspur may have avoided defeat in the league this season, but they have failed to win in their last three games.

Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with Leicester City was an interesting fixture as it gave the North Londoners the chance to show that they have moved forward from last season against a team who were nowhere near their standard of last year.
What it ended up proving was that Mauricio Pochettino and his Spurs side are still a bit short of that quality game changing player who can make the difference, which is why Daniel Levy should push hard for Real Madrid playmaker Isco during the next transfer window.

Spurs have a number of excellent players, but their run of recent draws indicate that other teams are well aware of that quality, and dare the Lilywhites to put them to the sword while dropping deep.
Tottenham have struggled to do that despite plenty of possession, and Christian Eriksen has been a big disappointment in particular when it comes to unlocking defensive opponents or netting when goals don’t look like coming. The only goals he has scored so far this season came in a 5-0 win over Gillingham.
Despite signing a new deal this year, the Dane is the player who would be most at risk from someone of proven class like Isco coming in.
Isco
Tottenham have been linked with the Spaniard over the last few months, by the likes of the Standard, and only now is it looking like the starting eleven would really benefit from an injection. Before that it was hard to say there was much room for improvement in the first choice midfield unless one of the top, top players in the world becomes available.
As it turns out, Isco has continued to see fairly regular football at the Bernabeu, even if he is far away from being a key player under Zinedine Zidane.

With four starts in ten La Liga matches, it is clear he is a quality rotation option who can play in a number of positions for the Spanish giants. Whether the 24-year-old will continue to be happy with that role rather than move to a team where he could be given an influential role remains to be seen, however, you can bet that Spurs will be linked with him again at some point during the January window.
Though Spurs may have to beat others to his signature, and considering the fact that Isco would almost certainly break Tottenham’s transfer record, he would offer an alternative across any attacking midfield position, and given his age, could yet turn into a truly world class player.
