The Tottenham Hotspur prospect found the net in the FA Youth Cup victory against Bournemouth.
Tottenham Hotspur prospect Rayan Clarke has expressed his delight after he emerged off the bench to find the net in his side’s 3-0 victory away to Bournemouth in the FA Youth Cup last night.
With Tottenham already two goals in front at the Vitality Stadium courtesy of a brace from the prolific Reo Griffiths, Clarke entered the fray as a late substitute and the winger proceeded to find the net in stoppage time as his team secured their place in the fifth round.
Clarke told the club’s official website: “It’s my first appearance in the competition so it was great to get a goal, especially because I didn’t have much time on the pitch so it was great to make an impact in a short amount of time.
“The off-side flag went up a couple of times against me as well but I’m sure that I will get more chances to score more goals.”
Tottenham have some very talented youngsters at their disposal and will be determined to enjoy a lengthy run in the competition, although they could face a tough tie in the next round as they take on the winners of Chelsea’s game against West Bromwich Albion.
Clarke is capable of playing on either flank and has made five league appearances for Tottenham at U18 level this season.
The 16-year-old will hope that his impressive cameo appearance against Bournemouth will lead to him receiving increased playing time as he looks to prove his credentials.
Next up for Tottenham U18s is a league game away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
