The Tottenham Hotspur star had no interest in discussing his own heroics on an otherwise disappointing day for the team.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga refused to discuss his own brilliant performance in an interview with Spurs TV on Sunday night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 2-1 away to Premier League leaders Liverpool in a game where Harry Kane fired the visitors into a first-minute lead.
But Tottenham ultimately succumbed to the pressure from Jurgen Klopp’s men, with Mo Salah slotting a 75th-minute penalty which ultimately proved to be the winning goal.
If not for Gazzaniga, though, it would’ve been an absolute rout for the North Londoners, who were saved time and time again by the Argentine keeper during a one-sided first half.
However, the former Southampton stopper had no intention of talking about his heroics and offered a blunt response when a journalist from the club’s website probed. Asked about his display, Gazzaniga said: “I think we lose so I don’t have much to say.”
It’s a very brief comment by Gazzaniga and yet one that sums up not only his disappointment, but his mentality.
This is a player who clearly cares more about Tottenham’s results than his own acclaim and even though he was on the losing side today, that’s the approach that could make him a hero for the club going forward.
Gazzniga, deputising for the injured Hugo Lloris, will be back in goal for Tottenham next Sunday when they visit Everton at Goodison Park.
