Tottenham Hotspur are admirers of Oliver Glasner but the Eintracht Frankfurt coach would reportedly leave only for a club with a realistic shot at Champions League glory.

After guiding Frankfurt to Europa League glory 10 months ago, the continental bug appears to have bitten as far as the 48-year-old Austrian is concerned. Glasner allegedly hopes to emulate Jose Mourinho at Porto, getting his mitts on Ol’ Big Ears itself one year after tasting success in Europe’s second-tier club competition.

The former Wolfsburg boss, Sport BILD say, would only consider turning his back on Eintracht Frankfurt for a side capable of competing for club football’s biggest prize.

Tottenham’s chances of luring Glasner away from the Commerzbank Arena, then, may rest upon whether or not interim coach Cristian Stellini can secure a top-four finish over the final two months of the Premier League season.

Antonio Conte leaves the London giants in fourth place. But Spurs are just two points above a Newcastle side who not only have two games in hand, but appear to have rediscovered their form under Eddie Howe.

Glasner, meanwhile, has just one year left on his Frankfurt contract. Die Adler will reportedly offer him a new deal, complete with a substantial pay rise. Frankfurt are determined to keep the legendary SV Reid defender out of Tottenham’s clutches.

“It’s not nice for any club when there’s a little unrest,” Glasner tells Sky. “We’re having some unrest right now, but I have a contract for over a year.

“There’s no reason to be nervous. When everyone comes back (after the international break), we will address it.”

Frankfurt are currently sixth in a tightly-packed Bundesliga table.

“I don’t know why anyone is nervous,” Glasner adds. “I still have 17 months of contract (remaining). Christian Streich (Freiburg coach) has just extended his contract, which expires in the summer, and nobody was nervous.

“I didn’t say in any way that I wanted to leave the club. No one will believe what I say anyway. That’s why I won’t say anything more about it now.”

Glasner reportedly has admirers at Real Madrid and Chelsea. Two sides with a far richer Champions League history than Tottenham. Chelsea, though, are all-but certain to miss out after a miserable campaign under Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.
