France endured a torrid evening as they fell to a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Finland.

Didier Deschamps will have been expecting to pick up a win at the Stade de France, but his side turned in a dismal display.

Moussa Sissoko lost possession inside his own half, and Brentford striker Marcus Forss raced clear to smash home the opening goal.

One became two as Onni Valakari cut inside to smash a stunning left-footed strike into the roof of the net, with France completely stunned.

France couldn’t recover and fell to a 2-0 defeat, leaving Deschamps with questions to answer whilst Finland’s ascent continues.

L’Equipe were far from impressed with the performance, and handed out some pretty shoddy player ratings – with Sissoko a target.

They gave Sissoko a shocking 2/10 rating for his performance, giving the Tottenham man a blasting for his display, whilst giving the same rating to Olivier Giroud.

Sissoko has been a regular for Jose Mourinho in the Premier League, making five starts whilst nailing down a spot alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbejrg in midfield.

The 31-year-old will hope that this international showing doesn’t seep into his Premier League displays, and as an experienced performer, he will be looking to put this game and his rating in the media behind him.
