Moussa Sissoko is at the early stages of his Tottenham Hotspur career, and made his second Premier League start for the club at the weekend.

He played 70 minutes of the win over Middlesbrough on Saturday, before being withdrawn for Erik Lamela.

His substitution was due to a head injury, with Spurs fearing a possible concussion. Yahoo Sports reported that he was a possible doubt for this week’s Champions League fixture against CSKA Moscow.

Sissoko has attempted to play down concern over his health, sending a message on Twitter to insist he is absolutely fine.

Sissoko signed for Tottenham from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day, with his desire to play Champions League football instrumental in his decision.

It looks likely therefore that Sissoko could travel with the squad to Russia, although he would be subject to fitness tests before being cleared to play.

Mauricio Pcohettino was quoted in The Independent after the game, suggesting Sissoko did indeed have a concussion.

Sissoko’s confidence in his own health is a good sign, and Tottenham may need a player of his international experience if they are to grind out a much needed result in their Champions League group, but will have to weigh that up with any long term risks.
