Tottenham Hotspur powerhouse Moussa Sissoko has joked that he is ‘tired’ of being a translator for summer signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs signed Ndombele from Lyon in the summer, with the defensive-minded midfielder linking up with his fellow Frenchman in North London.

The duo started Tottenham’s opening Premier League games in the middle of the park, but injury saw the summer signing miss their draw against Arsenal just before the international break.

Nonetheless, given that Ndombele is trying to get used to his new surroundings, he told Tottenham’s official Twitter account that he is trying to improve his English.

“How are things going with your English?” Sissoko asked Ndombele. “I am tired of being your translator!”

Ndombele responded: “I’m glad for your help! But yes we are doing some work on it. I’m understanding things better. I can speak a few words. I’m learning through training so I am able to work. I have two [classes] a week, which are going okay.”

Despite Tottenham’s indifferent start to the season, Ndombele has started off in a strong fashion and he even scored on his Tottenham debut when they beat Aston Villa on the opening day of the season.

Ndombele has been nowhere near his best, but when club football returns after the international break, he will be hoping to showcase his true worth.
