The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder did everything asked of him against the Swans.
Tottenham Hotspur fans are used to championing their unsung hero Mousa Dembele, and the Belgian international put in another stellar performance as Spurs fan out 5-0 winners against Swansea City this weekend.
Tottenham’s goals came courtesy of Harry Kane (2), Christian Eriksen (2) and Heung-Min Son. However, Dembele’s contribution should not be understated.

The midfielder was superb throughout, allowing Tottenham’s forward players to do what they do best without the worry of what was happening behind them.
| Passing Accuracy | Key Passes | Duels Won | Dispossessed | Ball Recoveries | Tackles Won | Touches | Take-ons | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mousa Dembélé | 93% | 1 | 7 | 1 | 8 | 1 | 60 | 4 | 1 | 83 |
Dembele had a passing accuracy of 93 per cent – the best of any Spurs player on the day – while he recovered the ball on eight occasions and was dispossessed just once all afternoon.
The 29-year-old also won seven duels, played one key pass to set up a goal-scoring chance for a teammate and had four take-ons as he sought to influence the game throughout.

Sometimes it is the work of the silent superstars that allow the headline names to do their business, and that is certainly the case with Dembele whenever he steps on to the pitch for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
