Spurs earned an excellent 3-0 win over United at Old Trafford.

Mousa Dembele has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that Mauricio Pochettino’s words of encouragement at half-time buoyed the Spurs squad into earning all three points against Manchester United.
Spurs went into the break on Monday night with the deadlock yet to be broken and the north Londoners struggling to carve out any chances against Jose Mourinho’s side.
But the game completely turned on its head in the second half, with Harry Kane opening the scoring with an excellent header from a Kieran Trippier corner, before Lucas Moura scored a superb brace.
Arguably the Brazilian’s best game since joining Spurs from PSG in January, Dembele spoke of how Pochettino’s words at half-time encouraged Spurs to go on and win the game.
“We spoke at half-time and said ‘this has to be our game’ because we knew we hadn’t played our best,” Dembele said.
“The mentality was different and the gaffer always speaks very detailed on what we can improve. We’re going to keep discussing this as a team.”

Dembele looks set to remain with Spurs until after the transfer window, despite entering the final 12 months of his contract with the north Londoners. He had attracted interest from Italy and China during the summer.
Spurs are next in action on Sunday before the international break, as they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford in their fourth Premier League game of the season. They have already beaten Newcastle, Fulham and United.
