The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is struggling for first-team chances; he needs to make light work of the under-23s just as the West Ham United striker is.

In a recent interview with the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino admitted that Marcus Edwards would continue his development with the under-23s despite some fans calling for more first-team chances.
While that will no doubt be a disappointment for the 18-year-old, he has a chance to prove he has outgrown second string football by doing what West Ham United forward Antonio Martinez is, and scoring practically every time he comes onto the field.

The Spanish forward joined the Hammers last season and he has excelled for their under-23 side, scoring 18 goals in 20 appearances to date.
That kind of form cannot be ignore for long and West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will know he has a star on his hands who is chomping at the bit.
Edwards may not be a striker, but he certainly knows where the goal is, and if he looks to the West Ham youngster for inspiration who could soon be making light work of his under-23 opponents.

It certainly looks like that may be the case, with the Tottenham sensation scoring five goals in six matches so far this season (three in five for the under-23s and two in one in the UEFA Youth League).
Both Tottenham and West Ham have gems on their hands and their managers know that. But while neither will want to rush the youngsters into the spotlight, the players themselves may have other ideas.
