Tottenham Hotspur duo Luke Amos and Josh Onomah could potentially lock horns in the Championship next season.

Midfielder Amos has already made his switch across London to Queens Park Rangers, as the Championship club confirmed on their official website earlier this week.

The 22-year-old has a big season ahead of him and he will be fully aware that a successful loan spell will enhance his chances at making a name for himself at his parent club.

This is something his fellow Spurs teammate, Onomah, has struggled to do during his two seasons on-loan at Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

The Sheffield Star report that Wednesday, who are managed by Steve Bruce, want to loan the attack-minded player for a second time.

When Onomah first moved down to the Championship, at Villa and under Bruce’s stewardship, he initially failed to be the attacking threat that the Midlands side were looking for during Grealish’s absence – Four goals and one assist in his first 25 games was proof of that.

When Grealish returned from a six-month lay-off in January, Onomah’s game time reduced massively, as only two assists and zero goals followed.

Albeit Amos is a different player than Onomah, he can’t show such struggles as his fellow academy product, who wasn’t brave or direct enough when he had the ball at his feet.

There were times when Onomah would go anonymous in games, and if Amos follows suit then his chances of earning another senior Tottenham cap will reduce.

But one thing Amos has done right from the get-go, which Onomah didn’t, is pick the right manager to work under. Warburton will allow him to get on the ball a lot more and he is more attack-minded than Bruce.
