Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is playing a patient game.

Daniel Levy pushed Tottenham’s boundaries last season by not signing any players, with surprisingly impressive results.
His laid back transfer market approach is not to everybody’s liking, with many Spurs fans frustrated.
But it could be about to come up trumps regarding Bruno Fernandes.
Before the month started, Fernandes was regarded as one of Europe’s hottest properties.
Portuguese sources, one being Correio de Manha, linked Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.
An over eager chairman would have rushed in with a big bid, to try and land Fernandes quickly. That would have committed Spurs to a big over spend.

Levy has wisely sat back, and waited for teams to show their hand.
It seems Liverpool and City are now out of the race, with The Telegraph reporting only Spurs and United are seen as possible destinations.
And what’s more, Sporting have dropped their valuation of £70 million, and would accept around £45 million for Fernandes, the paper claim.
At this point, its the time where Levy should make a bid, and his laid back approach could turn from a positive into a negative.
So far, he has played it well, and now needs to try and seal the deal.
