Tottenham have lacked funds to compete with Arsenal for Thomas Lemar. Now that has changed.
Tottenham Hotspur’s imminent sale of Kyle Walker has caused plenty of conversation among Arsenal fans who were quick to point out a comparison between his £50 million price and their record signing Alexandre Lacazette.
It could very soon be no laughing matter for Gooners if Tottenham step up their reported interest in Thomas Lemar.
Just last month Tottenham were the bookies favourites to sign the AS Monaco winger, with French newspaper L’Equipe reporting their interest.

Since then Tottenham have taken a step back, with Arsenal doing all the running to try and clinch a deal for the winger.
One of the reasons Spurs have backed off is they just have not had the money to compete with that type of offer.
Now thanks to the huge sale of Kyle Walker, they do, and have enough to throw a spanner in the works of Arsenal’s attempts to sign the winger.

Lemar scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists this past season, and is one of the most wanted players in European football.
Unlike Arsenal, Tottenham have Champions League football to offer, and international teammate Hugo Lloris didn’t exactly deny he had been telling him to join him when quizzed last month, the Metro reported.
