Tottenham Hotspur reportedly paid a modest £3.5 million for the 27-year-old.

Plenty of England’s Tottenham Hotspur contingent are getting bags of praise during this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Harry Kane is leading the way for the Golden Boot with six goals, Eric Dier scored the winning penalty against Colombia which sent Gareth Southgate’s side into the quarter-final, while Dele Alli nodded home a second during Saturday’s comfortable 2-0 victory over Sweden.
One Tottenham star who has been going quietly, but very effectively, about his business is Kieran Trippier.
He hasn’t made the same headlines as his team-mates in North London, but he has been a huge part of the Three Lions’ journey so far and, hypothetically, Spurs would surely make a huge profit on the former Burnley man if they sold him this summer.
Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy paid a modest £3.5 million [The Telegraph] to sign him from the Clarets in 2015, but with the transfer market the way it is, Trippier, who is contracted until 2022, has to be worth at least £35 million now.
He had an okay-ish season under Mauricio Pochettino last time around, but his form at international level is a reminder of his undoubted quality and although he doesn’t get the same praise as a Kane or an Alli, he is every bit as important to Southgate.
