West Bromwich Albion are keen on the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back, according to reports.
Tony Pulis has already been active in the transfer market this summer, but Baggies fans are expecting more new faces to arrive at the Hawthorns over the course of the next month or so.
A report today linked West Brom with Spurs centre-back Kevin Wimmer, with the Express & Star claiming that Pulis wants to bring the Austrian to the club, although he is reluctant to pay the £20 million that Tottenham want for him.
The 24-year-old’s quality is beyond question, and given the opportunity of regular first-team action, he would surely realise his true potential.

And whilst £20 million seems like a lot of money for a player who barely featured last term, the quality that he would bring to the Hawthorns would make the sum totally with it.
The fact that he is left-footed would provide greater balance to West Brom’s defence, and he would surely form a formidable partnership with Jonny Evans at the heart of the Baggies’ back-line.
Wimmer is strong in the air, and despite not being the quickest of defenders, he possesses the magnificent ability to anticipate danger before it has truly developed, which more than makes up for his lack of pace.
One major problem for Pulis will be in tempting Wimmer into a switch from north London to the Black Country.
At the age of 24, the Austria international will be desperate for first-team action, but whether he could be convinced to leave a Champions League club for West Brom is debatable.
If West Brom do manage to acquire the Tottenham star, however, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the club.
