The Tottenham Hotspur winger will spend the next few months playing in League Two.
Tottenham Hotspur reserve player Kenny McEvoy has completed a loan move to League Two side York City with the news announced on Spurs’ official Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old is predominantly a right winger although he can operate on the opposite flank or as right-sided central midfielder if required and given his age he will no doubt be happy to get some much needed first-team football under his belt in the months ahead.
McEvoy started his career in Tottenham’s academy in 2011 but he is yet to feature for the first-team, instead having to make do with a number of previous loan spells at the likes of Peterborough United, Colchester United and Stevenage.
The former Republic of Ireland under-17 international will now be hoping to make an impact at York, who are currently 23rd in League Two, in the relegation zone on goal-difference.
McEvoy has played 44 matches for Tottenham’s under-21 side, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in the process, and now is the perfect time for him to step up, whether his long-term future is at White Hart Lane or, more likely, elsewhere.
