Josh Onomah has suffered another injury just days after his return to loan club Sheffield Wednesday from Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Star.

The newspaper understands Onomah dislocated his elbow in training on Friday and was subsequently rushed to hospital.

The young Tottenham midfielder has only appeared once for Wednesday since Boxing Day due to separate hamstring problems, heading back to his parent club in the meantime.

And another u-turn may be required if it is decided later this week that surgery is required.

Speaking via the official Sheffield Wednesday Facebook page as recently as Friday, Steve Bruce said “it’ll be good to have Josh back”.

The Owls boss added: “He played very, very well for me at Aston Villa. And it’s fair to say with the number of appearances he’s made here, it hasn’t gone as well as either party would like.

“But I’m a big admirer of Josh and I’m pleased that he’s up and running and hopefully he’ll have some part to play in the next eight games.”

Onomah has only appeared 12 times for Sheffield Wednesday in total, but has set up three goals nonetheless.

The Tottenham academy product is one of several players the Owls have missed in recent weeks, despite the club’s surge towards an unexpected top-six finish.
