Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison has told Jude Bellingham that the Real Madrid shirt ‘suits you’ after he made his unofficial debut for the club during his side’s win over AC Milan in a pre-season friendly in the USA on Sunday.
The La Liga giants came from 2-0 down to beat AC Milan, with Federico Valverde netting a brace and Vinicius Jr scoring the winner with ten minutes left on the clock.
Jude Bellingham started the game and he expressed his delight on Instagram by stating ‘Loved my first minutes as a Madridista’.
In the comments section of his post, the new Real Madrid star was lauded by a number of his teammates, including James Maddison telling him that the shirts ‘suits ya’, with Thibaut Courtois calling him a ‘beast’ and Roberto Carlos applauding him.
It was a strong first showing from the 20-year-old, but is it any surprise?
If he carries on going down his current road, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he becomes a Madrid legend in years to come, with Bellingham posting the following message today.
‘Loved my first minutes as a Madridistra,” said Bellingham. “Let’s keep building. Thank you for the love.”
A legend in the making
Unless something catastrophic happens, then Bellingham is heading towards legendary status at Madrid because there is no chance his talents don’t succeed at the La Liga giants.
Barcelona are the current holders of the title, so first thing is first, win the title back, then go on their usual trips to European Cup finals and add more trophies to their cabinet.
What will be interesting to see is how Bellingham develops, especially with the searing amount of talent that is now around him, not forgetting the pressure he will be under.
