After a difficult period, there is a positive feeling surrounding Tottenham Hotspur again, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side having built upon the 5-1 thrashing of Stoke City with a 2-0 success against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Both results indicate that the Wembley curse that appeared to be affecting Tottenham earlier in the campaign is now over.
There was cause for concern earlier in the campaign when Tottenham failed to win any of their first three Premier League games at Wembley but they appear to have turned a corner of late, having won five of their last six top flight games at their temporary home.
Tottenham are becoming increasingly comfortable with playing at the national stadium, with the 4-1 victory over Liverpool in October having helped massively in that regard in terms of giving them the confidence that they can overcome major teams at the ground.
Victories over Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League were also significant in terms of making Wembley feel more like home for both the Tottenham players and supporters.
Now back in the top four, Tottenham will be hoping to perform consistently in the second half of the season as they aim to put pressure on the sides above them, and their home form could be vitally important in that regard.
