Tottenham’s Heung-min Son has admitted that he is going to ‘enjoy’ Liverpool’s Premier League title showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who hold a seven-point lead on third-placed City in the table, will travel to Manchester hoping to maintain their unbeaten run.

The Merseyside club are yet to taste defeat after 20 league matches and will be hoping to open up an even bigger lead on their rivals at the top of the table.

After Tottenham’s comfortable 3-0 win at Cardiff City on New Year’s Day, they closed the gap on the league leaders to six points.

Spurs forward Son, who played at the Cardiff City Stadium, issued this response when he was asked whether he is looking forward to Thursday nights mouthwatering fixture.

“Of course [I am looking forward to watching City v Liverpool],” Son told Sky Sports during the post-match interviews on 01/01/2019 at 7:35 pm.

“You always enjoy watching football, especially the Premier League. This is a big game. I am going to watch, I don’t support anyone. I am going to watch the game and enjoy.”

In October, both teams played out a goalless draw at Anfield, with City winger Riyad Mahrez missing a late penalty for the visitors.

Three points for Klopp’s side here will send them nine points clear of Spurs and a further 10 points clear of the current champions, who won the league by amassing 100 points last season.

For Spurs, they will now focus their attention towards the FA Cup as they take on League Two side Tranmere Rovers on Friday night before hosting Chelsea for the first leg of the Carabao Cup four days later.
