The Tottenham Hotspur winger would be a useful addition to the Newcastle United squad this winter.
The Magpies have enjoyed a fairly respectable start to life in the Premier League this season, with three wins, two draws and three defeats coming from their opening eight league outings, but Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his options during the January transfer window.
One particular area of concern for the Spaniard is his wide attacking options, with more competition for the likes of Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu thought to be absolutely vital to Newcastle’s hopes of finishing inside the top 10 this term.
With this in mind, the Toon should consider a move for Spurs winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, who has failed to establish himself with the north London outfit, since joining the club on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2016.
The fleet-footed Frenchman has made just 20 appearances for Tottenham, with 18 of those coming from the bench during his time with the club, but it could be argued that his development has been stunted due to a lack of regular first-team action.
The 22-year-old wide-man would inject a certain level of much-needed pace to the Magpies’ setup at the very least, and would provide Benitez with an entirely different option to those currently available to him.
The former Marseille man has a lot to prove in England, and must show Mauricio Pochettino that he has what it takes to hack it in the Premier League.
And with that kind of motivation, bringing Nkoudou to St James’ Park could be a masterstroke by Benitez.
A loan deal until the end of the season would represent zero risk for either Newcastle or Spurs, and would be a deal that could greatly benefit both clubs and the talented winger himself.
