The Tottenham Hotspur winger had another chance to impress this week but failed to do so.

To some Tottenham Hotspur fans, it is a surprise that winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou remains at the club given his struggles last season. While others believe the Frenchman needed more time to prove his worth in North London.

Some promising performances over the summer suggested he was ready to make up for lost time, but N’Koudou’s cameo against Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday painted an all too familiar picture.

The Tottenham wide man came on for the last 15 minutes in Cyprus, with his side 3-0 up courtesy of the player he replaced, Harry Kane, and at that stage of proceedings N’Koudou should have been terrorising a tired and battered opposition defence.

There was plenty of running, but the problem for the Tottenham misfit remains that he is all pace and no end product.

Like so many frustrating wingers before him, N’Koudou is pacy but clueless when it comes to his final ball, able to get in behind with ease yet befuddled when he has to play that final, killer ball.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino obviously sees something in the player and will have tried to coach him extensively in a bid to improve his areas of obvious weakness.

The issue is, for now at least, the penny has not dropped and if he cannot make an impact against a beleaguered Apoel side, what chance does he have of becoming a regular starter in the Premier League?
