The Tottenham Hotspur winger did not please his club’s fans after a recent snap made its way online.
Tottenham Hotspur player Georges-Kevin N’Koudou generated a few headlines earlier today when he was photographed in a Chelsea shirt, but the Frenchman has quickly taken to Twitter to explain the situation.
“I’m wearing the shirt my friend Michy Batshuayi gave me,” N’Koudou wrote. “No disrespect here, just friendship. Sorry for not knowing.”
It is a simple explanation but the 22-year-old really should have known that putting on a rival club’s shirt – even if it was a gift from another player – was unlikely to be a good idea.
N’Koudou struggled to make any significant impact at White Hart Lane last season, featuring only 17 times for Tottenham and managing a single assist in the process.
The vast majority of his opportunities came from the bench and he will no doubt be hoping for more chances to impress Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino during pre-season training, provided he is not sold in the interim.

He is likely to get some stick from his Tottenham teammates following his latest social media faux pas, but at least he was quick to explain himself.
Tottenham are likely to strengthen in key areas this summer, including out wide, and N’Koudou may already be on borrowed time given his lack of impact following his drawn out arrival.
