Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has admitted that playing in the Champions League has been his dream.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has told the club’s official website that competing in the Champions League has been his dream since he was a young boy.

Spurs are in Champions League action tonight as they take on Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley Stadium, just two weeks after playing out a 0-0 draw away in Germany.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men need to grab all three points to boost their chances of making it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, but they enter the game having been in poor form.

In their last five games, Spurs have failed to grab a win, and have scored just three times in those five matches, with many suggesting that Tottenham lack pace and direction in the final third.

That’s where Georges-Kevin Nkoudou could come in. The French winger joined Spurs from Marseille on deadline day after a protracted saga, and has showed some promise in his cameo appearances, flashing speed as well as a desire to run at defenders.

Nkoudou may not start against Leverkusen this evening, but he’s in contention to feature – and ahead of tonight’s game, he has discussed his Champions League dream.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Nkoudou admitted that he thinks the Champions League is ‘incredible’, and it’s his dream to be involved in Europe’s premier club competition, having already featured as a substitute against CSKA Moscow.

Nkoudou added that Tottenham have to win tonight having failed to gain all three points against Leverkusen last time out, so Spurs will give it their best at Wembley.

“For me, the Champions League is incredible,” said Nkoudou. “It’s a dream to be involved because when I was a young boy I used to watch the Champions League all the time, so to get the chance to live that dream and play in the competition is great.”

“It would have been nicer to have got the three points in Leverkusen but obviously we couldn’t. We’re going to have to win this game to go forward, so we will give it our best and I hope to play a part,” he added.
