We take a look at the five things Tottenham Hotspur should be focusing on in the close season.

The summer transfer window may be some way off but the international break gives us the perfect excuse to talk about it.
Here we consider the five things Tottenham Hotspur should look at this summer in a bid to improve next season and beyond:
Sign a new striker
While patience may be the key when it comes to Vincent Janssen, Tottenham cannot go into next season with the misfiring Dutchman, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane as their only goal-scoring options.
Spurs need another quality striker such as Celtic’s Moussa Dembele or Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette but wanting and getting are two very different things.
Sign an effective new winger
Tottenham also need an effective new wide man and while Wilfried Zaha could be a handy addition they would be wise to look further afield in a bid to bring in a player with more experience and consistency.
Sort out the goalkeeping situation
Tottenham need to decide if they want to make Pau Lopez’s loan deal permanent and, if so, it would be time to wave goodbye to Michel Vorm.
Alternatively, if the Spaniard is not kept on, it will be interesting to see if the Dutchman is willing to play second fiddle for one more year before his contract expires in 2018.
Consider the superstar option
Tottenham should be lauded for their youth policy but that does not mean they should avoid signing a superstar altogether.
Real Madrid’s Isco could take them to another level and it may be worth spending big to sign either him or the previously mentioned Lacazette.

Decide the best option for Marcus Edwards and Cameron Carter-Vickers
While Tottenham fans will be desperate to see Marcus Edwards and Cameron Carter-Vickers in action next season, Pochettino may decide it is best to send one or both out on loan in order for them to enjoy regular first-team football.
Whatever happens, a decision needs to be made to either play them or offer them a temporary exit.
