The big Tottenham Hotspur striker was linked with a January move away from North London.

Linked-away Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has admitted to Marca that it would ‘be nice’ to return to Athletic Bilbao, after speculation about a move to Spain.
The 34-year-old striker was linked with a move to his former club in January and Bilbao’s Sporting Director Rafa Alkorta confirmed the interest [Cadena Ser].
But an injury to Harry Kane meant that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could not afford to lose his second-best forward.
The former Spain international performed well in Kane’s absence, scoring big goals against Chelsea and then Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, but the towering hitman suggests that leaving North London at the end of the season might still interest him.
He told Marca: “There was a lot of talk about my possible departure to Athletic but seeing the injuries that Tottenham had, I knew it would be complicated. It would be nice to retire at Athletic.”
Very few Tottenham fans will care if Llorente leaves. The former Swansea striker, a £12 million signing in 2017 [Sky Sports], hasn’t done the business at all, only scoring two Premier League goals for Spurs.
Lilywhites supporters will be desperate to see a top-quality goalscorer signed as cover for Kane this summer and, well, Llorente just hasn’t been that player.
