So far the summer signing has featured 14 times for Tottenham, predominantly from the bench, and he is yet to build on the 15 goals he scored for former club Swansea City last season.
That record earned him a move to North London, but he needs to do a lot better to justify the switch and the upcoming Champions League match against APOEL Nicosia could be the ideal opportunity.
That is a dead rubber for a Tottenham side that has already reached the knockouts stages and secured first place in their group, meaning Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino can offer some of his fringe players the chance to impress.
The Cypriot side have been the whipping boys of Group H, conceding 14 goals in just five games, and if Llorente wants to finally open his account for Tottenham he could not ask for more accommodating opponents.
The ideal scenario would be if Llorente fills his boots against APOEL, building his confidence this side of a busy Christmas and New Year fixture list.
He may have struggled for goals thus far, but filling his boots against the minnows could belated kick-start Llorente’s campaign.
