The Argentine is currently on loan at AS Roma from Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio had arguably his best match since joining Italian side AS Roma on loan back in the summer, as he put in a superb individual performance in a 1-0 victory against Genoa on Sunday.
The centre-back was crowned Roma’s star man as he made an outstanding 22 clearances during the encounter.

The 29-year-old also won four aerial battles, four interceptions and one tackle, while he touched the ball 67 times and had a passing accuracy of 70 per cent.
| Passing Accuracy | Clearances | Tackles Won | Interceptions | Passes | Long Balls | Aerials Won | Touches | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Federico Fazio | 70% | 22 | 1 | 4 | 37 | 12 | 4 | 67 | 1 | 90 |
Fazio signed for Tottenham from Sevilla but a series of below-par performances suggested his stay at White Hart Lane would be a short one.
So it proved, with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino agreeing to follow up his loan move back to his former club in Spain with another temporary stint – this time in Serie A.
Roma have the option to sign Fazio at the end of the campaign for just £2.7million (as reported by Reuters) and if he continues to put in these kind of performances it could prove to be one of the few times Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been short changed when it comes to a player sale.
