The Tottenham Hotspur boss has performed superbly in his role since taking over nearly three years ago.

Spurs star Dele Alli sat down for an exclusive interview with popular football magazine Four four Two, and opened up on his relationship with Mauricio Pochettino, highlighting how much of a hard taskmaster the Argentine is.
The former Southampton boss has enjoyed great success during his time as manager at White Hart Lane, and although his Tottenham team are still yet to win a trophy, he has definitely taken them to an entirely new level, where they must now be considered as perennial Premier League title contenders.
And Alli explained how Pochettino gets the best out of his players on a regular basis, during an exclusive interview with Four Four Two, sharing how demanding the Tottenham boss can be:
“Sometimes you take your foot off the pedal a little bit, but he’s always there straightaway to make sure you know that everyone is fighting for a place, and that it’s just as easy to come out of the team as it is to get into it. He wants you to give 100 per cent all of the time. He wants the intensity that you see us playing with in matches all of the time. As soon as he sees you coming off it in training, he will tell you straightaway. You can’t get complacent.”

The main challenge for the Argentine now will be to guide his side to consistent success, both domestically and on the continent.
And with their new stadium move on the horizon, that could very well be an extremely tough task, what with the limited funds available for transfers over the next couple of seasons.
If anyone is capable of getting the best out of a small squad though, it’s Pochettino, and he has demonstrated his ability to keep his main group of 13 or 14 players fully motivated and fresh throughout the course of what is a long and physically punishing campaign.
Whether this season’s title race will be a step too far for Spurs remains to be seen, but they certainly seem to be on the right track nevertheless.
