Spurs star Dele Alli spoke to the club’s official website, and raved about his team’s display against Watford, whilst explaining why he decided to have a strike at goal from 25 yards out.
Tottenham are absolutely on fire at the moment, and kept the pressure up on league leaders Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table with their superb 4-0 win over the Hornets.
And the 20-year-old former MK Dons midfielder has played an integral role in his side’s success this season, chipping in with 16 goals and five assists in 30 Premier League outings.
His goalscoring exploits have seen him compared with the great Frank Lampard, and if he continues to improve, the sky will be the limit for Alli.
The England international is renowned for making well-timed runs into the box, with most of his goals coming from in and around the six yard area – which made his strike from so far out yesterday all the more surprising.

Alli told reporters why he went against his natural instinct, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:
“We knew it was going to take a long strike or something to make them come out a little bit. They were sat quite deep, and I knew it was going to take a long range effort to start bringing them out.”
When asked why he chose to take the strike from from 25 yards out, Alli jokingly responded:
“Tired legs.”
Next up for Alli and co is a home game against Bournemouth next weekend, whilst Chelsea travel to Old Trafford, and with Spurs playing first, they have another opportunity to close the gap at the top to four points and crank the pressure up on the Blues.
