Tottenham midfielder has more assists than Arsenal and Chelsea’s multi-million pound duo combined.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli provided another assist as he helped Tottenham keep their pressure on Leicester City in the race for the Premier League title.
Alli set Harry Kane up for his second goal of the game at White Hart Lane as Spurs beat Bournemouth 3-0.
The youngster is in his first season in the top flight after joining from MK Dons, and has deservedly been called into the England squad.
His assist against the Cherries was his ninth in the Premier League – more than Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez have combined.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester United’s Juan Mata also have made contributions which pale in significance to Alli’s, and you can combine and two of the four players, and they still fall short of Alli.
| Team | Assists | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dele Alli | Tottenham | 9 | 29 |
| Cesc Fàbregas | Chelsea | 4 | 29 |
| Juan Mata | Man Utd | 4 | 30 |
| Eden Hazard | Chelsea | 3 | 26 |
| Alexis Sánchez | Arsenal | 3 | 22 |
Alli cost a snip at just £5 million, while the quartet listed above were bought for a combined value of more than £100 million.
The midfielder is battling to help Tottenham to win the Premier League title this season, and accomplishing that would be the greatest achievement of all.
