Tottenham sealed a deal for Jack Clarke yesterday.

Tottenham Hotspur’s first business this transfer window was a move for Championship winger Jack Clarke.
And immediately, Spurs elected to send him back out on loan.
Delving into this decision, it says a few things, one that Clarke is not quite ready for the step up. With just four Championship starts to his name, that’s a fair assessment.
It also shows a confidence in Tottenham’s current squad, that Spurs can afford to send him back out to Leeds.
Tottenham are operating at an elite level, reaching the Champions League final last season.
Having made no signings over the previous 12 months, Spurs may have felt a bit of pressure to add Clarke immediately into their set up.

Spurs are clearly confident in their current options, unless they plan to address the wing position further this transfer window.
Earlier this summer The Mail reported that Spurs wanted to sign two wingers, Jack Clarke and PSV Eindhoven’s Steven Bergwijn.
Whether Dutch international Bergwijn remains a target or not, Spurs sending Clarke out on loan also suggests they remain in the market to sign a winger this summer.
Both assessments can be accurate. Spurs are happy with their options and want to send Clarke out on loan for experience, and still are open to adding a player who can make a difference immediately.
Tottenham’s transfer window is only just getting started.
