Danny Rose’s display for Tottenham Hotspur last night shows exactly why he should be forgiven for his comments.
Rose was absolutely brilliant at left-back for Spurs against Barcelona, as he put in a performance which was a reminder of the quality he possesses.
Rose has had a troublesome time at Tottenham in recent times, ever since he made controversial comments before the start of last season.
Rose suggested that Spurs’ players weren’t paid enough, and that he was open to a move away.
However, Rose ended up sticking around at Tottenham, during which time his form has been mixed at best.
The England international has struggled with injury, and has failed to show his best since 2017.
His controversial past comments have led to criticism from some sections of Tottenham’s fan base, but that should all be forgotten about now.
Rose proved beyond any doubt that he is now Tottenham’s best left-back, and with him involved they are a much better side.
And it is time for Pochettino’s side to move on with Rose playing a key part again, as he is too talented to leave out for any longer.
