The new English Football League season kicks off tomorrow and teams have wasted no time in signing promising youngsters from Premier League clubs on loan.
While a lot of the attention will naturally be fixed on the Championship, several League One clubs have also brought in some of the top-flight club’s emerging stars.

The 22-year-old has re-joined last season’s play-off semi-finalists on a season-long deal and he’ll no doubt be looking to improve on the 10 clean sheets he gained from 23 appearances last season.
He’s also picked up loan experience at Gillingham and Stevenage over the last two campaigns.
RB – Conor Bradley – Liverpool to Bolton Wanderers

The three-time Northern Ireland international has joined the Trotters and will embark on his first loan move away from Liverpool.

Naturally a full-back who can fill in at centre-back, Sessegnon has joined the Addicks after spending the second half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle.
CB – Haydon Roberts – Brighton & Hove Albion to Derby County

The 20-year-old has formed part of the massive turnover in playing staff at Derby County and Roberts will be hoping to nail down a starting berth under former Seagulls man Liam Rosenior.
Roberts made 26 League One appearances during his loan spell with Rochdale during the 2020-21 season.
LB – Thierry Small – Southampton to Port Vale

The 17-year-old prospect made the move to the St Mary’s Stadium last season from Everton, and he’s joined the promoted Vale.
Small etched his name into the history books in January 2021 as he became Everton’s youngest ever player.
Aged just 16 years and 176 days, Small came off the bench in Everton’s fourth-round FA Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Goodison Park.
CM – Caleb Watts – Southampton to Morecambe Town

The three-time Australia international has four first-team appearances under his belt for the Saints and after making one appearance during a loan spell with Crawley Town last season, Watts will be hoping to shine with Morecambe.
Form nine Premier League 2 appearances last season, the 20-year-old scored one goal and laid on five assists.
Tyler Onyango – Everton to Burton Albion

The Luton-born midfielder featured three times for the Toffees in the Premier League last season under Rafael Benitez.
But the 19-year-old will be hoping to impress Frank Lampard while playing under the Everton manager’s former Chelsea teammate Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink.
RW – Tyreece John-Jules – Arsenal to Ipswich Town

The England Under-21 international spent time out on loan at Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday last season.
The young Gunners forward will be aiming to impose himself on Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich side and build on the five League One goals he scored while on loan at Doncaster Rovers in 2020-21.
LW – Louie Barry – Aston Villa to MK Dons

After being tipped for stardom while coming through the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion, Barry was signed by Barcelona in July 2019 before returning to England with Aston Villa 18 months later.
In a youthful Villains side, Barry drew his team level against Liverpool in the FA Cup third-round at Villa Park in January 2021.
Barry scored six goals during a loan spell with League Two side Swindon Town last season and he’ll be hoping to showcase his credentials in front of goal in the third tier of English football with MK Dons.
ST – Dane Scarlett – Tottenham Hotspur to Portsmouth

Part of the England Under-19 side that won the European Championships this summer, Spurs’ wonderkid joins Pompey with huge pedigree.
Testing himself in the Football League will only aid and enhance Scarlett’s burgeoning potential.
Signing the 18-year-old on a season-long loan could prove to be a masterstroke by Pompey.
ST – Dan N’Lundulu – Southampton to Cheltenham Town

After spending the end of last season on loan at Cheltenham, the 23-year-old has re-joined the Robins on loan until January.
N’Lundulu, who is current nursing a hamstring injury, spent the first half of last season on loan at fellow League One side Lincoln City.
