The Tottenham Hotspur man believes his side have every chance of success in the Premier League this season.
Spurs star Christian Eriksen sat down for an exclusive interview with the Metro, and defended his side’s transfer policy, with Mauricio Pochettino still yet to bring any fresh faces into the club so far this summer.
Tottenham were captivatingly brilliant last season, despite ultimately missing out on Premier League glory, and their second placed finish in the table was viewed as undoubted progress by the White Hart Lane faithful and pundits alike.
And Spurs fans urged Daniel Levy to back Pochettino in the transfer market this summer, with their first top flight title since 1961 firmly in their sights.
Things haven’t quite happened as planned thus far, however, with no new arrivals as yet, and Kyle Walker leaving to join up with Manchester City in a £50 million deal.

The 24-year-old Dane backed the Lilywhites to produce the goods again this time around though, highlighting how spending money does not always translate into success, as quoted by the Metro:
“I don’t think you need to spend to win anything. Only [Kyle] Walker has left in our team and we know what we did last season. It’s an English thing isn’t it. It’s an English thing where you have to spend money to win something, apparently. I read something from the gaffer where he said our club is just different compared to other clubs, in that we don’t spend as much money as them. When I came there were seven new players at the same time and you saw how that ended. Now in the last few seasons we haven’t bought as many players and it’s changed around.”
In spite of Eriksen’s confident approach to the season ahead, Pochettino will surely have to bring in at lease two quality additions, if his side are to push for major honours on all fronts over the course of the next nine months.
And if the Argentine fails to do just that, there will be some serious questions asked of him, and more pertinently, Daniel Levy’s motives will come under real scrutiny from the Tottenham faithful.
