The Tottenham Hotspur youngster is currently on loan at Sheffield United.
According to Fox Sports, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers is in line to make his debut for the USA during this international break.
The USA failed to qualify for next summer’s World Cup, meaning they are now unlikely to play a competitive match until 2019 and allowing them the chance to blood the next generation of talent.
Carter-Vickers has been tipped for his international breakthrough for quite some time and, having impressed on loan at Sheffield United this season, he now looks set to get his chance.
The 19-year-old has impressed at Tottenham, regularly playing above his age level and featuring four times for the senior side in the process.
However, with Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth arriving in North London last summer, chances were always going to be at a premium for Carter-Vickers and he subsequently headed out on loan to the Championship, where he waited patiently before becoming indispensable for the Blades.
So far the Tottenham youngster has featured nine times for Sheffield United as they have made a strong claim for promotion from the second tier, and now he looks set to get his first international cap.
This could be a huge season for the Tottenham teenager on many levels and, if he continues on his current trajectory, it will not be long before he adds to those four matches for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
