Speaking to Sky Sports Football’s YouTube channel, Antonio Conte has named Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon as the two best players he’s ever managed.

Conte, of course, was the Juventus manager during Buffon and Del Piero’s time in Turin, and he says that they’re both fantastic players.

Conte has had the pleasure of coaching some all-time great footballers from Eden Hazard to Harry Kane to Andrea Pirlo, but the Italian says Del Piero and Buffon are the best he’s coached.

What’s been said?

The Spurs boss was asked which player was the best he’s ever managed.

“This question is not easy. I want to pick two players who I played with and then I was their coach. Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon. I had two experiences with them as a teammate and as a coach, two fantastic players,” Conte said.

Incredible

Conte has managed some great footballers in his time, but it’s hard to think of many as legendary as Del Piero and Buffon.

The Italians are a pair of World Cup winners, and, of course, they’re absolute legends for Juventus.

Buffon is, of course, still playing to this day in Serie B with Parma, and with his contract running until 2024, he should still be playing until the age of 46.

These two aren’t just two of the best players Conte has ever managed, they’re two of the greatest in Italian football history.
