Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld believes his club will benefit from having so many players at the Euros
Tottenham Hotspur’s player of the season Toby Alderweireld has explained to the club’s official Twitter account about how having 11 players on international duty at Euro 2016 will benefit the club, and make them stronger next season.
Spurs fantastic season was down to the performances of most of their starting 11 and that has now coincided with more international call-ups than the North Londoners have ever experienced before.
Alderweireld is confident Spurs will be stronger next term
With the small squad that Tottenham possess, many pundits believe their representation in France over the summer will have an adverse effect on the start of their Premier League campaign next season, but Alderweireld has a different view, telling Tottenham’s official Twitter account:
“It’s great for the club that we have a lot of internationals going to the Euros, and the experience players are getting from going to this kind of tournament is massive as well. You take it all back to your club afterwards and you get better.”

Although the Tottenham squad will undoubtedly benefit from having so many players gain experience from the intensity of a European Championship, their chances of success next season will depend heavily on the investment Mauricio Pochettino deems necessary in his squad.
Following their drop in performance levels in the last few games over this past season, the general consensus is that Spurs will need to add at least three squad players to enable them to challenge on all fronts.
Alderweireld is currently on duty with the Belgium national side as they continue their preparations for Euro 2016.
