Tottenham return to Goodison Park this weekend.

An away game against Everton is a match teams usually approach with trepidation.
A Tottenham team low on confidence might feel this way, but after last season, they really shouldn’t.
Tottenham stunned Marco Silva’s side in the December 18 clash, winning 6-2 away from home.
It was a demolition, with Tottenham far and away the superior side. Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane led the way, scoring two goals each.
Spurs looked like a complete team, but they have not come near to replicating this type of form in an away fixture in the 10 months of 2019 so far.
The victory over Everton last season moved Spurs just two points behind second placed Manchester City, and six back from league leaders Liverpool.
It put them in a strong position, and pundits were even cautiously tipping them to launch a title bid. On the back of this performance, it was hard to argue.

Jermaine Jenas told BBC Sport: “It is easy to get over-excited after an outstanding display like the one I watched at Goodison Park but, while I still think they might ultimately fall short of the title, there is no doubt they are in with a shout.”
By January, Tottenham’s title challenge began to fall apart, slowly but surely, as Harry Kane and Dele Alli suffered injuries and Heung Min Son headed to the Asian Cup.
Heading into the Goodison fixture this weekend, Tottenham sit in 11th place, 10 points back from City and 16 behind Liverpool.
They have gone backwards, but a big win over a struggling Everton team this weekend might just rekindle the team’s fire, and remind Mauricio Pochettino and his players of the force they appeared to be becoming a year ago.
